Auto Club Enterprises’ Deephouse elected chair of IIHS Board of Directors

Brian Deephouse, vice president and chief actuary at Auto Club Enterprises, has been elected chair of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Board of Directors for 2026. Deephouse takes over from Ginger Purgatorio, executive vice president of claims enablement and excellence at Allstate.
“IIHS has long played a central role in improving road safety, and I am honored to help guide the organization in its next chapter,” Deephouse said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to advance the Institute’s 30x30 vision for reducing traffic deaths 30% by the end of the decade.”

Daniel Halsey, president of personal lines at The Hanover Insurance Group, has been named chair-elect, and Andrew Woods, chief analytics officer of personal lines and distribution at Farmers Insurance Group, is vice chair.
