Moderate overlap front: original test
Rating applies to 2007-12 models
Tested vehicle: 2007 Toyota Yaris 4-door
The Toyota Yaris was introduced in the 2007 model year. The frontal ratings also apply to the 4-door hatchback (5-door) version of the Yaris, beginning with 2009 models, when it was introduced, through the 2011 models.
The ratings do NOT apply to the hatchback beginning with 2012 models, when it was redesigned. Beginning with 2012 models, the sedan was available new only to fleets.

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.
The dummy's position in relation to the steering wheel and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained well.
The bent steering wheel is evidence of a hard hit of the dummy's head through the airbag during the crash.
Intrusion into the driver's space was minimal, and all leg and foot injury measures were low.

Tested vehicle: 2007 Toyota Yaris 4-door with optional front and rear head curtain airbags and optional front seat-mounted torso airbags
The Toyota Yaris was introduced in the 2007 model year. Beginning with 2009 models, side airbags were made standard.
Two tests of a 2007 Yaris were conducted, one with optional side airbags for the driver and rear passenger, and one without. These vehicles are rated separately, except that the structural ratings for both vehicles are based on both tests.
