Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2001-05 models

Tested vehicle: 2002 Hyundai XG350 4-door

The Hyundai XG300 was introduced in the 2001 model year and renamed the XG350 for the 2002 model year because the engine size was increased. The XG350 was dropped after the 2005 model year, replaced by the Hyundai Azera.

Driver restraints and dummy kinematics

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.

The dummy's position in relation to the steering wheel and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained reasonably well.

The dummy's left knee and shin broke the plastic knee bolster and bent the metal structure underneath. Still, left leg injury risk was low.

Forces on the lower right leg and foot were high enough to indicate the possibility of injuries. The steering wheel was found pressed against the right thigh.
