Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2006-11 models

Tested vehicle: 2006 Hyundai Azera Limited 4-door

The Hyundai Azera was introduced in the 2006 model year as a replacement for the Hyundai XG350. Frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Hyundai as part of frontal crash test verification.

How the moderate overlap front test is conducted

Side: original test

Rating applies to 2006-11 models built after April 2006

Tested vehicle: 2006 Hyundai Azera Limited 4-door with standard front and rear head curtain airbags and standard front and rear seat-mounted torso airbags

The Hyundai Azera was introduced in the 2006 model year as a replacement for the Hyundai XG350. All 2006 and later Azera models manufactured after April 2006 include roof and floor structural upgrades and side airbag changes to improve occupant protection in side-impact crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door). The tested car was manufactured after the modifications had been made.
