Driver restraints and dummy kinematics
Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury. There was too much upward movement of the steering wheel.

Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.

There was moderate intrusion into the footwell area and too much steering wheel movement, but the driver's upper interior survival space was maintained reasonably well.

Intrusion into the driver footwell contributed to moderately high forces on the dummy's left leg.

The fixed head restraints are too low to protect many drivers, especially people taller than this dummy representing an average-size male.
