Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2007-13 models

Tested vehicle: 2007 Acura MDX 4D 4wd

The Acura MDX was redesigned for the 2007 model year. Frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Honda as part of frontal crash test verification.

How the moderate overlap front test is conducted

Side: original test

Rating applies to 2010-13 models

Tested vehicle: 2010 Acura MDX 4-door 4wd with standard head curtain airbags for all three rows of seats and standard front seat-mounted torso airbags

The Acura MDX was redesigned for the 2007 model year. Beginning with 2010 models, the side airbags were modified to improve occupant protection in side impact crashes. Side ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Honda as part of side crash test verification. Because there were no structural changes, the structure rating of the current model is based on both Honda's test and an earlier Institute test of a 2007 MDX model.
