How the moderate overlap front test is conducted

Side: original test

Rating applies to 2015-24 models

Tested vehicle: 2015 Ford Mustang GT 2-door convertible with front seat-mounted head and torso airbags

The Ford Mustang was redesigned for the 2015 model year. Side ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Ford as part of side crash test verification.

Pelvis/leg
Rear passenger head protection
The dummy's head was hit by the window sill trim, which was dislodged during the crash before head contact. This impact did not produce high head injury measures, but the head protection is insufficient.
