Moderate overlap front: original test

Rating applies to 2016-19 models

Tested vehicle: 2016 Nissan Versa Note SV 4-door

The Nissan Versa hatchback was redesigned for the 2014 model year after a one-year absence from the market and renamed the Versa Note. Nissan believes the Versa Note is sufficiently different from the Versa 4-door sedan that the two variants do not share ratings. Beginning with 2016 models, the driver frontal airbag was changed to a simpler design with flexible venting technology.

Two tests of the Versa Note were conducted by Nissan, one of a 2014 model and the other of a 2016 model. Moderate overlap frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute as part of frontal crash test verification. As expected, the newer airbag did not contribute to any significant changes in test results. Therefore, the ratings are based on both tests, but vehicle specifications listed below are for the 2016 model.
