This rating is assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by the manufacturer as part of frontal crash test verification.
Rating and Top Safety Pick designation also apply to Acura CSX models, sold only in Canada. ESC is standard on the CSX.
Good rear crash protection rating does not apply to Civic Si models, but does apply to all Acura CSX models.
ESC standard on Vibe.
Earlier model tested had optional side airbags; side airbags standard in current models (except Chevrolet Cobalt models sold to fleets).
