Test details:
The Honda Odyssey was redesigned for the 2005 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, both the side torso airbag and side curtain head airbag deployed, and the dummy's head contacted the side curtain airbag. The dummy continued to rebound into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Left to right:
- Action shot taken during the frontal offset crash test.
- The dummy's position in relation to the steering wheel and instrument panel after the crash test indicates that the driver's survival space was maintained well.
- The frontal airbag and both side airbags inflated for the driver dummy. Smeared greasepaint indicates where the dummy's head contacted the side curtain airbag and the head restraint during rebound.
- Intrusion into the driver's space was minimal, and all leg and foot injury measures were low.
Additional features:
- Side airbags: head curtain airbags for all three rows of seats and front seat-mounted torso airbags
- Rollover sensor: designed to deploy the side curtain airbags in the event of an impending rollover
- Electronic stability control
- Antilock brakes
- Daytime running lights (2008-10 models)
