The Volkswagen CC was introduced in the 2009 model year. The car is a variant of 2006-10 models of the Volkswagen Passat sedan with a lower roofline, frameless side windows, and a higher price. Frontal ratings are based on an earlier Institute test of a Passat.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy’s head hit the roof rail and grab handle.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity. Head acceleration from the roof rail/grab handle hit was low.
