Test details:

The Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe were redesigned for the 2009 model year. A small number of 2010 Pontiac Vibes were built before the car was discontinued. Frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Toyota as part of frontal crash test verification.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. The driver and passenger side curtain airbags deployed during the crash.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
