OVERALL BUMPER EVALUATION:

OVERALL WEIGHTED AVERAGE DAMAGE: $1,128

TEST DETAILS: During the front full-overlap test, the Scion xD bumper system fully engaged the barrier; however, in addition to cover, energy absorber and reinforcement damage, the radiator support side panels were crushed. During the rear full-overlap test, the bumper engaged the barrier; however, in addition to cover, energy absorber and reinforcement damage, the barrier backstop contacted, and dented, the lower edge of the tailgate. Additionally, the cover loaded two studs on the rear body panel used for mounting a radio transceiver (not equipped on this vehicle), slightly bending the rear body panel. During the front corner test, there was no bumper/barrier lateral engagement, resulting in the cover and windshield washer bottle being crushed. During the rear corner test, the bumper engaged the barrier, limiting damage to the bumper system (cover and reinforcement).
