OVERALL BUMPER EVALUATION:

OVERALL WEIGHTED AVERAGE DAMAGE: $2,727
TEST DETAILS: During the front full-overlap test, the Volkswagen Rabbit bumper system underrode the barrier, resulting in damage to the cover, energy absorber, hood, radiator support, both fenders and both headlamps. Additionally, the grille crushed the air conditioning condenser, which in turn crushed the radiator and cooling fan assembly. During the rear full-overlap test, the bumper underrode the barrier, resulting in cover, energy absorber and rear body panel damage. Additionally, the tailgate was crushed by the barrier backstop. During the front corner test, there was no bumper/barrier lateral engagement, resulting in the headlamp being crushed by the barrier backstop; in turn, the headlamp was driven into the fender, buckling the fender. Additionally, the radiator support was cracked and the windshield washer bottle was crushed. During the rear corner test, there was no bumper/barrier lateral engagement, resulting in the crushing of the lower quarter panel extension in addition to cover damage.
