To get a learners permit you must
Have a minimum age of 151,2
Before getting an intermediate or restricted license you must
Have your permit for 12 months2
Complete minimum supervised driving of 60 hours, 10 of which must be at night, learner phase; 12 hours, 6 of which must be at night, intermediate phase
Have a minimum age of 163,4
Restrictions during intermediate or restricted license stage
Nighttime restriction 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
Passenger limit (family members excepted unless otherwise noted) no more than 1 passenger younger than 21; if a family member younger than 21 is already a passenger then no other passengers younger than 21 who are not family members
Minimum age at which restrictions may be lifted
Nighttime restriction 6 months or until age 18, whichever occurs first (min. age: 16, 6 mos.)
Passenger restriction 6 months or until age 18, whichever occurs first (min. age: 16, 6 mos.)
