To get a learners license you must:
Have a minimum age of 15
Before getting a license or restricted license you must:
Have a mandatory holding period of 12 months
Have a minimum supervised driving time of 40 hours, 6 of which must be at night
Have a minimum age of 161
Restrictions during intermediate or restricted license stage:
Nighttime restrictions midnight-6 a.m.; duration: at least 12 consecutive months and age 18 secondary enforcement
Passenger restrictions (family members excepted unless otherwise noted) no passengers for the first 6 months; no more than 1 passenger younger than 21 for the second 6 months; thereafter no more than 3 passengers younger than 21; duration: at least 12 consecutive months and age 18 secondary enforcement
Minimum age at which restrictions may be lifted:
Nighttime restrictions 18
Passenger restrictions 18
