Important: Frontal crash test ratings should be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

The Nissan Rogue was introduced in the 2008 model year. The vehicle was renamed the Rogue Select in the 2014 model year to distinguish it from the redesigned 2014 Rogue. The Rogue Select is less expensive and shares no ratings with 2014 and later models of the Rogue.

Structure

The driver's space was seriously compromised by intruding structure. Lower interior intrusion measured as much as 38 cm at hinge pillar and the instrument panel intruded 24-27 cm.

Injury measures

Measures from the dummy indicate that injuries to the left lower leg and left foot would be possible in a crash of this severity. The risk of significant injuries to other body regions is low.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

The dummy’s head contacted the frontal airbag but slid off the left side, leaving the head vulnerable to contact with forward structure. The steering column moved 15 cm to the right as well as 15 cm upward, contributing to inadequate protection for the head and allowing little airbag cushioning for the chest. The side curtain airbag deployed and had sufficient forward coverage to protect the head from contact with side structure and outside objects. The side torso airbag also deployed.

Injury measures

Measures taken from the neck, chest, and both legs indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. A high head acceleration occurred when the dummy's head hit the steering wheel through the airbag, indicating that head injuries would be possible.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

Dummy movement was well controlled. The driver side curtain and side torso airbags deployed during the crash. After the dummy moved forward into the frontal airbag, its head contacted the side curtain airbag.

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Head protection

Driver — The dummy’s head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

Passenger — The dummy’s head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
