Important: Frontal crash test ratings should be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

The Nissan Rogue Sport was introduced in the 2017 model year. The vehicle is a variant of the Rogue SUV with a shorter overall length and no availability of third row seats. Small overlap frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Nissan as part of frontal crash test verification.

Structure

The driver space was maintained reasonably well, with maximum intrusion of the lower interior of 13 cm at the parking brake pedal and 12 cm at the lower hinge pillar. Upper interior intrusion measured 8-9 cm at the hinge pillar and instrument panel.

Injury measures

Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

The dummy’s face remained in contact with the frontal airbag, but its head still rolled around the left side, allowing the head to move toward the gap in coverage between the frontal and side curtain airbags. The side curtain airbag deployed and has sufficient forward coverage to protect the head from contact with side structure and outside objects. The side torso airbag also deployed.

Important: Frontal crash test ratings should be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

The Nissan Rogue Sport was introduced in the 2017 model year. The vehicle is a variant of the Rogue SUV with a shorter overall length and no availability of third row seats. Moderate overlap frontal ratings are assigned by the Institute based on a test conducted by Nissan as part of frontal crash test verification.

Injury measures

Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

Dummy movement was well controlled. The driver side curtain and side torso airbags deployed during the crash. After the dummy moved forward into the frontal airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.

Injury measures

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Head protection

Driver — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

Passenger — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
