Important: Frontal crash test ratings should be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

The Nissan Quest and the Mercury Villager were introduced in the 1993 model year. Frontal airbags for both the driver and passenger became standard beginning with the 1996 model year.

Injury measures

Measures taken from the chest indicate low risk of injuries to the chest in a crash of this severity. A high head acceleration occurred when the dummy's head hit the steering wheel through the airbag, indicating that injuries to the head would be possible. Forces on both tibias indicate that injuries to the lower legs would be likely.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

Dummy movement wasn't well controlled. The dummy's head hit the steering wheel through the airbag as the seat tilted forward.
