The 2002 Honda Passport is a twin of the tested vehicle.

The Isuzu Rodeo and the Honda Passport were redesigned for the 1998 model year and structurally modified beginning with 2000 models to improve occupant protection in frontal crashes. Beginning with 2002 models, airbag modifications were made to further improve occupant protection.

Injury measures

Measures taken from the neck and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the head indicate that injuries to the head would be possible. Forces on the right tibia and both feet indicate that injuires to the lower leg and both feet would be possible. Head accelerations from the roof rail and grab handle hits were low.

Restraints and dummy kinematics

Dummy movement was reasonably well controlled. The driver's seat tipped toward the door. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the roof rail and grab handle.
