Dodge Caliber

2007 - 2009 models

OVERALL BUMPER EVALUATION: Poor

OVERALL WEIGHTED AVERAGE DAMAGE: $1,449

TEST DETAILS: During the front full-overlap test, the Dodge Caliber bumper system fully engaged the barrier, resulting in cover and reinforcement damage. Additionally, the mounting tabs of both headlamps were broken. During the rear full-overlap test, the bumper system underrode the barrier, resulting in cover, energy absorber, reinforcement and rear body panel damage. Additionally, the bumper cover vertically loaded, and rolled, the lower edge of the tailgate. During the front corner test, there was no bumper/barrier lateral engagement, resulting in the headlamp being crushed by the barrier backstop; in turn, the headlamp was driven into the fender, buckling the fender and inner structure. During the rear corner test, the bumper engaged the barrier, limiting damage to the bumper system (the cover, reinforcement and energy absorber).
